This is an unusually large Loro Piana scarf that may be worn as a wrap, shawl, stole or draped in another creative fashion. It is an exceptionally rare and beautiful vintage piece that embodies the designer’s absolute virtuosity of form and function. The perfect balance of cashmere and silk combine to produce one of the softest materials you’ll ever touch while providing the ideal canvas for the intricate geometric and floral pattern to flourish. I noticed while photographing the scarf that there are layers of nuance in the interplay of colors and ornate shapes. I used natural light for photography. I was mesmerized by the way different elements and features capture the eye’s attention under subtle changes in natural light and draping configurations. The images in the listing have no digital filters. Through the process of staging and framing this piece I developed a deep appreciation for the sheer mastery of design, form, fabric and functionality that make Loro Piana’s paisleys so timeless, iconic and valuable. I have only been able to locate ONE item that appears to be the same design which was «sold» on eBay some time ago (I’ll happily forward that link to any prospective buyer). I used that «sold» listing to help me price this extraordinary and rare piece. However, due to the high value and rarity of this piece I have meticulously photographed every square inch of it. Prior to sealing the item for shipping I will record a video of the packaging process in order to prevent the potential for the item being swapped for an inauthentic replacement. I understand that it would be a challenge to reproduce this rare collector’s item within the return time frame available yet there is a rather serious and pernicious issue of expert counterfeits being ordered and customized prior to buyer’s making a purchase (particularly designer attire in women’s high fashion).
